    To ask the Minister for Defence and his HR/Pensions Units the number of Civil/Public Servants in his Department in the last 10 years who have been granted full-service retirement of 40 years for compassionate/discretionary reasons when they retired on ill health grounds (on the advice of a medical advisor). (1) Can he please indicate the number of recipients whom full service has been awarded to, even, if it was beyond their nearest potential service age for retirement of 60 or 65 (whichever is applicable to their status) i.e., despite 40yrs being beyond their official retirement age they were not paid just to the nearest pensionable age but instead were awarded full pension. (2) How many years were granted to these retirees in these particular cases
