When Hong Kong was turned over to the People's Republic of China in 1997, the Royal Navy sold the five (5) Peacock Class corvettes, three (3) of which went to the Philippine Navy while the remaining two (2) went to the Irish Naval Service: the LÉ Ciara (P42) & LÉ Orla (P41). Now that I read in various articles (Irish Examiner, Irish Times, Wikipedia) that the said vessels were decommissioned last July 2022. I would like to inquire about the current status of said vessels, since five (5) months have passed from the latest information available. Hopefully, the Philippine Government thru the Philippine Navy & the Government of Ireland thru the Irish Naval Service would have communication with regards to the said vessels. I hope the said vessels would eventually meet her sister ships to add the assets of the Philippine Navy, whether by purchase or donation.
