The 2008 Local Government Audit Service (LGAS) audit of Limerick City Council stated, at part 7.2 Misappropriation of Funds The above matter was referred by way of comment in the previous audit report. A file on the findings relating to the misappropriation by an official of the City Council was made available to me at audit. I am seeking a copy of the Council's file in relation to this matter. The LGAS 2008 audit also stated: The advice of the City Council's legal advisor was sought regarding this matter. In a reply dated 28 November 2008 amongst other comments made were the following: ' If Limerick City Council are in a position to recover a sum that in total terms equals broadly to what sum they can actually prove, without the necessity of Court proceedings then I would have no hesitation in recommending such a course of action' I am also seeking a copy of the letter referred to above. The 2019 LGAS audit on Limerick City and County Council stated, at part 15: At the end of 2019, an investigation into financial irregularity resulted in disciplinary proceedings being taken against an employee. As a result the individual's employment has been terminated. The Council made the Department aware of the full process and outcome of this investigation. I am seeking all records associated with this investigation, including any correspondence with the Department. Please note: Given that this incident occurred around two years ago, and that the individual's employment has been terminated, the deliberative process exemption cannot be applied. I am seeking electronic copies of all the requested records. Please note: Where a record is being released, redactions should only be applied in connection with a specific exemption in the FOI Act. Please do not redact solely on the basis of the information not being considered relevant to the request.

whether or not the South Circular Road was gritted on the 24th/25th of January, 2021. We are also enquiring as to whether or not any pedestrianised paths in the area were gritted at the same time. If you could also provide us with information as to whether or not roads into housing estates would have been gritted around this time. We have reviewed the Winter Maintenance Plan and we note the priority areas indicated in Priority 1 and 2. We are looking at a situation not involving the Local Authority where somebody says they slipped in a private development, and that is why we are seeking information as to what the local authority would have done around the same time. It is for that reason I am enquiring as to what records are available of the routes that were gritted in the vicinity of the South Circular Road on that date.
