I request the following to cover the time period 1 April 2021-31 July 2022. In 2021, IFI’s Audit and Risk Committee initiated an internal audit review concerning allegations of misuse of dormant accounts funds. Internal audit’s January 2022 report highlighted significant weaknesses in IFI’s administration of dormant accounts funding. • I would like copies of all correspondence between the IFI board chair with Denis Maher, Philip Nugent or then Minister Eamon Ryan about findings in the IFI internal audit review and/or board concerns with the findings. • Also, copies of any internal correspondence between Maher and/or Philip Nugent and/ or then Minister Eamon Ryan concerning the findings in the IFI internal audit review and/or board concerns with the findings raised with the department; • Also, a copy of the audit or a briefing on key findings received by the department • Also, I would like copies of all correspondence between the IFI board chair with Denis Maher, Philip Nugent or then Minister Eamon Ryan about legal advice received by Inland Fisheries from Byrne Wallace concerning the use of dormant accounts funds; • Also, I would like copies of all correspondence between Denis Maher and/or Philip Nugent with the then CEO of Inland Fisheries Francis O’Donnell about any of the concerns raised by the IFI board chair about the DAF;
