I wish to seek the following records from your Department relating to the Deposit Return Scheme and the Separate Collection (Deposit Return Scheme) Regulations 2021 (S.I. No. 599/2021), or 'the Regulations'. 1. All documents and proposals Deposit Return Scheme Ireland CLG submitted as part of its application to the Minister to become an approved body in fulfilment of the requirements of s.6 of the Regulations, including but not limited to the business plan for the scheme required by s.6(1)(d) and the financial plan required by s.6(1)(e). 2. All documents, records and correspondence relating to the Minister's decision to approve that same application. 3. All documents, records and correspondence relating to the grant of €500,000 Minster Ryan made to Re-turn in 2023 to further its public awareness campaign, which is referenced in Re- turn's Annual Report 2023 and referred to by the Minister in his written answer to a question from Deputy Cathal Crowe on 24 April 2024: https://www.oireachtas.ie/en/debates/question/2024-04-25/124/ 4. Any and all records, correspondence and data held by the Department regarding the amount of unredeemed deposits that Re-turn currently hold. 5. All records, correspondence and data held by the Department in relation to the number of containers returned under the scheme since its introduction, including a breakdown according to type of container (e.g. plastic bottle or can), and any data relating to the number of in-scope containers placed on the market during this period.
