I hope this clarifies the matter. Please note that I am seeking copies of records that exist in relation to practice and procedure followed, and the basis on which appointments are made, at Assistant Principal Officer Standard and Higher levels, in the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform. I am also seeking for the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform to provide any documentation it holds on the justification for the existence of the two separate grades of Assistant Principal Officer Standard and Assistant Principal Officer Higher and on the differentiation in the roles and duties to be assigned to each of these grades, given the difference of €7,000 plus per annum paid in respect of them.
