Minutes of meetings held between Taoiseach Leo Varadkar led team, alongside the Minister for Health Simon Harris TD, and the Minister for Health Promotion and the National Drugs Strategy, Catherine Byrne TD, and their teams on the New Drug and Alcohol Strategy from May 2016, including the Department of Justice and other members Departments of the committee. After the government committed to pursuing a health-led strategy rather than a Criminal Justice approach to drug abuse, to July 2017 when it was launched.
