Office of Public Works We would be grateful for 1) all information held by the OPW in relation to any flood relief scheme of which the OPW is aware, other than at Lough Funshinagh, County Roscommon, which have been authorised under the Local Government (Works) Act 1949 including their location, costs, dates and terms. Should such information exist, we require that same is provided immediately pursuant to Article 5(3) of the AIE Regulations which provide: “In the event of an imminent threat to human health or the environment, whether caused by human activities or due to natural causes, a public authority shall ensure that all information held by or for it, which could enable the public likely to be affected to take measures to prevent or mitigate harm, is disseminated immediately and without delay” Clearly if any works have been authorised under the 1949 Act, an imminent threat to human health or the environment is engaged by the matter in respect of which such works were authorised. 2) The details of the cost-benefit analysis for any aforementioned flood relief schemes.
