Today's Irish Independent refers to a briefing document produced by the TII and submitted to the Dept of Transport, dated 28th October 2022. The document in question reportedly has the title "Briefing Note to the Department of Transport on the Consequences of the Funding Scenarios for 2023". Under the FOI Act, I wish to request the following: A copy of the Briefing Note mentioned above. All written material in the possession of the Dept of Transport, Minister of Transport or Minister of State at the Dept of Transport specifically related to the Briefing Note or its contents, before or after its submission to the Department, such as memos, project proposals, research reports, literature reviews, correspondence etc. All correspondence or other written material circulated between Dept of Transport officials in relation to the Briefing Note or its contents, before or after the date of its submission. All correspondence or other written material sent by any person in the Dept of Transport to any member of the Oireachtas in relation to the Briefing Note or its contents, before or after the date of its submission. All correspondence or other written material sent by any person in the Dept of Transport to any person in An Garda Siochana or the Road Safety Authority in relation to the Briefing Note or its contents, before or after the date of its submission. The overall aim of this FOI request is to elucidate and understand the Dept of Transport's engagement with the Briefing Note, its contents, its production and its circulation, from its earliest inception, especially in regard to the prevention of road deaths and injuries. For the purpose of this FOI request, the scope of the required material includes, but may not be limited to, all documents, reports, plans, correspondence, emails, notes, records of meetings, memos, faxes or other material in the possession of the Dept of Transport, whether typed, printed, handwritten, mechanically or electronically recorded or reproduced. Please provide the requested documentation in electronic format by email if at all possible. If it proves necessary, I am also seeking your assistance in (a) identifying the records pertaining to the above request and (b) ensuring that the terms and scope of this request are sufficient to obtain the required information. Should this request need to be amended or clarified in any way, I would be grateful if you could let me know as soon as possible. I request that ongoing correspondence be conducted by email.
