Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Could you supply me with the following information under the Freedom of Information Act 2014 1) As of 6 May 2025 The amount that the Department of Foreign Affairs paid towards accommodation costs of DFA staff that are based at Irish Embassies and Consulate General Offices worldwide in the years of 2023, 2024 and to-date in 2025. The rates that are available eg DFA will pay a maximum of €3,000 or equivalent per month towards assisting DFA staff to source accommodation while they are posted overseas. If the limit is difference in certain counties please provide the amounts by location eg a Maximum of €3,000 per month if posted in Washington DC, a maximum of €2,500 if posted in Sydney etc in tabular form 2) If the Department of Foreign Affairs pays any contribution fees towards Educational costs for children aged between 4-17 years old of DFA staff that are posted overseas at Irish Embassies and Consulate General Offices; if so the rates that apply for Educational costs by location in the years of 2023, 2024 and to-date in 2025 in tabular form 3) If the Department of Foreign Affairs pays any contribution fees towards car insurance or vehicle costs where DFA staff that are posted overseas at Irish Embassies and Consulate General Office and that DFA staff members hires out a vehicle for personal and or business related work for the duration of them being deployed overseas at Embassy or Consulate General offices; if so the maximum rates available for DFA to recoup costs where all necessary receipts have been supplied eg Maximum costs up to €150 or equivalent per month by location eg £150 per month is available per month for vehicle related costs of DFA staff posted at the Irish Embassy in London, $150 US dollars is available for DFA staff posted at the Irish Consulate General office in Boston and so on.
