I am seeking the following records: Parts (a) - (f) can be broken down by calendar years 2012; 2013; 2014; 2015; 2016; and the first 6 months of 2017. Part (h) relates to a time period of 1 January 2012 – 1 January 2017. (a) The number of personal injury claims (i.e. all claims made, regardless of whether these resulted in legal proceedings being issued or now) received. (b) Of those claims, the numbers of instances in which payouts were made, regardless of being court approved or out-of-court. (c) The amounts paid out (not including legal fees), either by way of out-of-court settlements or court awards, for personal injury claims. (d) The number of court proceedings issued against the local authority for personal injury claims. (e) The number of court proceedings successfully defended by the local authority (ie struck out, with no payment made or admission of liability OR proceedings dismissed by the court). (f) Legal fees (both plaintiff and defendant) on personal injury claims incurred by the local authority. (g) In total, from 1 January 2012 - 30 June 2017: the amounts in legal costs awarded in favour of the local authority arising from personal injury actions, that were ultimately written off as bad debts/unrecoverable. (h) In total, from 1 January 2012 - 30 June 2017: the amounts in legal costs awarded in favour of the local authority that were successfully recovered.
