I wish to make a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2014. I am seeking all records held by your organisation relating to the exhumation of Private George Duff Chalmers (2nd Battalion, Royal Scots), whose remains were exhumed at Drumbaun, Miltown Malbay, Co. Clare, on or around 10 June 2021. In particular, I am requesting: 1. All records identifying the individual(s), organisation(s), agency or authority who requested or initiated the exhumation. 2. All correspondence, emails, letters, internal memos, meeting notes, file notes, applications, authorisations or permits connected to the exhumation. 3. All records relating to the decision-making process, including communications with the family, the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC), Clare County Council, the Office of Public Works (OPW), or any other bodies. 4. Any records stating the legal or administrative basis for authorising the exhumation. For clarity, the primary purpose of this request is to determine who requested or authorised the exhumation of Pvt. Chalmers' remains.
