Records held by the Department of Finance relating to the Proposed Belville Solar Farm project. For clarity, this request refers to the proposed solar farm development by Power Capital Renewable Energy (PCRE), located near Belville, Monivea, Co. Galway, commonly referred to as the “Belville Solar Farm.” This includes any associated grid connection or infrastructure works, and any records where the project is referred to under a different internal name or reference. This request specifically focuses on state funding, subsidies, guarantees, tax incentives, or other financial support, whether direct or indirect, provided to or considered for the project. Specifically, I request: 1. Funding, Subsidies, and Guarantees Applications, correspondence, or approvals regarding state-backed loans, guarantees, or grants provided to PCRE. Internal memos, assessments, or advice concerning eligibility, risk, or compliance for any state financial support. Records of any tax relief, incentive schemes, or state aid consultations involving PCRE or the Belville Solar Farm. 2. Correspondence and Engagement Emails, letters, or meeting notes between the Department of Finance and the project developer (PCRE) or their representatives. Communications between the Department of Finance and other state bodies (e.g., SEAI, ISIF, DECC, Galway County Council) regarding funding, guarantees, or subsidies for the project. 3. Monitoring, Oversight, or Reporting Records of any monitoring, reporting, or compliance checks performed by the Department of Finance on the Belville Solar Farm project. Internal communications regarding policy alignment, risk assessment, or state aid considerations. For the purposes of this request, the term “records” should be interpreted as defined under Section 2 of the FOI Act, including emails, reports, handwritten notes, and electronic files.
