I request access to records of any and all modelling exercise(s) conducted by the Department of Agriculture with regards to reducing the number of bovine cattle (beef and dairy) in Ireland. This request includes modelling exercises designed as early retirement schemes for both beef and dairy farmers. As part of such modelling exercises, I request that specific details be provided on the number of bovines (beef and dairy) that could be reduced under any/all scenarios, the amount of money farmers would be compensated for reducing bovine numbers on a per head basis, the proposed timeframes involved, and the terms and conditions of such proposed schemes with regard to impact on future generations with a farm family. Furthermore, I request access to details on the level of agricultural emissions that could be reduced under any/all modelling exercises for reducing beef and dairy bovine numbers in Ireland.
