Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation I have compared the candidate booklets for the following campaign numbers 1529103 and 17123209 and I see that the following sections are sections are practically the same; • Information About….. • Duties of the Role • Essential Requirements • Competencies I have a number of questions specific to these two recruitment campaigns 1529103 and 17123209 ; 1. For recruitment campaign 1529103, why was Assistant Principal pay scale used and not Professional Accountant Grade 1 ? 2. Why was the Assistant Principal pay scale NOT deemed appropriate here in recruitment campaign 17123209 ? 3. Were there any changes made around that time 2015-2016 eg: streamlining of around technical grades that might explain a. the prevalence of the Professional Accountant Grade 1 pay scale b. this use of different pay scales in recruitment campaign 1529103 and 17123209. 4. Given their similarity, why was the same pay scale not applied to both competitions ? 5. Have you received any previous queries or challenges from previous candidates successful or not, in relation to the use of the Assistant Principal pay scale in recruitment campaign 1529103 ? 6. This recruitment practice where roles and terms and conditions being approved by DPENDER can result in a situation where different individuals are recruited and appointed to the exact same role but on different rates of pay. a. How is this aligned to your value of Fairness? b. If a person was recruited on the Assistant Principal pay scale and then another person was recruited on the Professional Accountant Grade 1 pay scale , is it standard practice to then allow the latter take over from the former resulting is unfair treatment of the former?
