All communications from 1st January 2023 to the present date, between the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, his advisors, the Chief Veterinary Officer, all other members of the Minister’s Office, his Department officials, and the Veterinary Council of Ireland, in relation to the following: - • the prescribing and supply of all veterinary medicines in Ireland, including antimicrobial and antiparasitic veterinary medicines; • the VCI Code of Professional Conduct for Veterinary Practitioners and Guidance Notes relating to the prescribing of antimicrobial and antiparasitic veterinary medicines; • the VCI’s rules and regulations regarding Certificates of Suitability (COS) under the Premises Accreditation Scheme; • the VCI’s Code of Professional Conduct regarding animals under veterinary care and Client- Patient-Practice-Relationships (CPPR); and • the VCI’s rules and regulations regarding the requirement to provide 24/7 emergency cover. As per Section 10 of the FOI Act, and as a Registered Veterinary Practitioner, I have been / will be affected by the decisions and actions of the Veterinary Council of Ireland, particularly in relation to proposed changes to the Code of Professional Conduct for Veterinary Practitioners announced by the Minister for Agriculture on 29th March 2023, and as the owner and Certificate of Suitability (COS) holder for a Registered Veterinary Practice, I have a material interest in the consequences of the decisions and actions taken by the Veterinary Council of Ireland.
