I wish to request, under the Freedom of Information Act 2014, the following non-personal information; in the calendar year 2016, 1. How €150 many fixed penalty fines for littering were imposed by your local authority? 2. Of these €150 fixed penalty fines imposed, how many were paid? 3. How many instances of littering and/or illegal dumping resulted in the council initiating court action? 4. Of the court actions initiated, how many were for unpaid fixed penalty fines? 5. Of the court actions initiated, how many were at District Court level, how many at Circuit Court level and how many at High Court level? 6. Of the Court actions initiated, how many resulted in (a) convictions, (b) acquitals? 7. Did the council initiate any kind of legal action related to littering/illegal dumping – ie did the council seek injunctive and/or other type of relief? 8. Of the cases taken to court in 2016m, how much has your council expended on legal fees for same? I would be happy to receive this information by email.
