The requester sought access to records held by TU Dublin relating to rental deposits for accommodation owned and directly managed by university residences for the period from 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2025. The request covered: A) Deposit rules and decision-making Copies of the standard terms and conditions that set out: - how deposits are charged, - the basis for deductions (cleaning and damages), - how students are notified of deductions, and - the appeals/complaints route. B) Complaints / appeals about deposits (redacted) Copies of formal complaints, appeals, or dispute correspondence received by the University from students relating to deposit deductions or deposit returns in university-managed accommodation, with personal data redacted as required, to cover the period between 1 Jan 2023 and 31 Dec 2025, and up to 15 records (or the first 15 in 2025 if there are many). C) Internal briefings: The most recent internal briefing notes/reports prepared for University management that discuss recurring issues or trends relating to deposit deductions/returns in university-managed accommodation during the same period.
