a. As has been reported by the Irish Independent the Taoiseach (and/or Irish Government) , on or about the eve of the UK 2019 general election, (December 12, 2019) received a written appeal from a self styled "Conservative Group for Europe", broadly urging him to take note of what they speculated was a supposed “growing momentum" for a final say by the British public on Brexit”. In their letter the group expressed a view that the only way out of what they perceived as a "crisis" was a so-called People’s Vote a "confirmatory" vote by the British public. b. The self styled group included (inter alia) the likes of a man called Dominic Grieve , a former Conservative MP, and a man called Michael Heseltine. c. This FOI request is for: a copy of that group's letter and a copy of the Taoiseach's reply - which should be understood to include a copy transcript of a verbal reply if appropriate.
