Could we please request the following under the Freedom of Information Act 2014: Euthanasia Statistics 1. How many dogs were euthanised in 2021, 2022, 2023 and to date in 2024; 2. Please provide a breakdown of breed and rationale for all dogs euthanised; 3. Please confirm if efforts were made to reunite these dogs with owners (where they were found straying) or to rehome them (in all instances). 4. Please provide a copy of the euthanasia policy utilised by the pound. If there is no such policy, please provide information as to how decisions are made re euthanasia and who is responsible for making the decision. Aggressive Behaviour / Dog Attack Statistics 1. The Control of Dogs Statistics note that statistics on aggressive behaviour / dog attacks have been compiled by local authorities. Please provide a copy of these statistics for 2022, 2023 and to date in 2024. We obviously do not need personal details but would like to understand: a. How many incidences of aggression / dog attacks there were in total; b. A breakdown by category of type of incident / attack if available; c. Breed(s) involved; d. If dogs entered the pound as a result of such incidence / attack (whether by way of straying, surrender or seizure); and e. If these dogs entering the pound were euthanised as a result. XL Bully Ban Implementation 1. Copies of all materials / information / guidance provided to all dog wardens in relation to the XL Bully Ban; 2. Confirmation as to what training was provided to dog wardens in relation to the XL Bully Ban and copies of all materials / information / guidance provided to dog wardens as part of any training in respect of the XL Bully Ban. We understand training took place over 3 days (2 in September and 1 in October) – is this correct? Was this part of a standard training programme or additional training given? 3. How many dog wardens are in your local authority and confirmation as to whether all dog wardens attended all training days in respect of the XL Bully Ban and, if not, confirm which
