I am writing to make a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2014 for information relating to immigration from Ireland to the UK, particularly focusing on potential illegal immigration routes. Specifically, I am requesting the following information: 1. Does the Irish government have any mechanisms in place to track or estimate the number of immigrants, including those potentially entering illegally, moving from Ireland into Northern Ireland or mainland UK? 2. If such mechanisms exist, please provide the most recent available data on: a) The estimated number of immigrants moving from Ireland to the UK b) The number of individuals caught attempting to enter the UK illegally via Ireland 3. What assessment, if any, has the Irish government made regarding the potential security risks posed by individuals using Ireland as a route to enter the UK without proper vetting?
