I read an article on the Irish Examiner in which Elizabeth Canavan, assistant secretary general at the Department of Taoiseach was quoted as saying "over half of the passengers arriving into the country are Irish residents, and two-thirds of those are returning from holidays." Of the non-Irish residents who were arriving into the country in January 2021, how many are holiday makers? How many non-residents are travelling for non-essential purposes? How many ferry passengers arriving into the country are non-residents on holiday?
