I refer to the enclosed minute from Department of Public Expenditure and Reform to the Secretary General, Department of Justice & Equality dated 28 September 2012 and I would be obliged to receive the following: All documents relating to any of the listed allowances as "Classes of allowances to be abolished for new beneficiaries", where those allowances have either been abolished and reinstated or not abolished at all. The documents should include where necessary, the reason for reinstatement. Concerning Category 3 ‐ "Allowances paid in An Garda Síochána ‐ Classes of allowances proposed to be abolished for new beneficiaries". I request all documentation touching upon the sanctioning of these proposals to be‐ abolished and the reasons therein. As ∙ at (i) above, the documentation should include where those allowances have either been abolished and reinstated or not abolished at all. The documents should include where necessary, the reason for reinstatement. Concerning "Priority list for elimination/review for current beneficiaries" ‐ I would be obliged to receive all documentation concerning the elimination of allowances payable within your Department to current beneficiaries for the following allowances within An Garda Síochána:  Clerical Allowance  Gaeltacht Allowance  Promotion Exam Grant  Transport Allowance  Change Management Allowance  Exam Bonus – Inspector  Bicycle  Aran Island All documentation detailing the allowances your Department intended to prioritise for elimination/review for current recipients within An Garda Síochána only ‐ detailing the proposals, including timeframes for the completion of the process. Any and all documentation relating to consideration of your Department in abolishing allowances, pursuant to the Employment Equality Act 1998, as amended.
