Tipperary County Council Re: M8 Motorway Culvert I would like to ascertain: When the culvert under the M8 motorway at Point X was installed If there was a Section 50 Application made to the OPW prior to the installation of the culvert seeking their approval Was there an assessment done of the catchment upstream culvert and what arrangements were made in relation to the discharge to the culvert into an open stream on the downstream side? I enclose a map of the 2 culverts – the 1.2m culvert at Point X which is the culvert under the motorway and the second culvert marked Point Y which goes under a local access road – the L3071. We understand the culverts were constructed between March 2006 and July 2008 and believe they were constructed during the earlier part of the period to enable the haul road and earthworks to proceed for the construction of the M8 Motorway. TII have provided us with this information to date and that Tipperary County Council were the sponsoring Agency or lead authority for these works."
