I’m looking for details of arrests by Immigration Officers which I understand come under the purvey of the Department. The number of arrests at border crossings of international protection applicants under section 20 of the International Protection Act 2015 and the reasons for those arrests as specified in the act (suspected national security threat, forged documents, failure to establish identity etc). I request the information broken down by year and dating back to 2015.
