Department of Finance

Under Freedom of Information Act 2014, I request all record pertaining to meetings between officials at the Department of Finance and representatives of the tobacco industry since 1 January 2017, including, but not limited to documentation from representatives of the tobacco industry requesting these meetings submission made to officials at the Department of Finance by representatives of the tobacco industry relevant to these meeting (submitted before, during or after the meeting)agenda, minutes, presentations or other documents associated with the meetings any correspondence between officials at the Department of Finance and representatives of the tobacco industry relevant to these meetings (submitted before, during or after the meeting) correspondence from officials at the Department of Finance to officials at that Department or other government departments relevant to these meetings. I also request all record pertaining to communication to officials at the Department of Finance since 1 January 2005, regarding obligations under Article 5.3 of the World Health Organisation's Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) in respect of the setting and implementing tobacco taxation policy. My interest is on meetings between department Officials and the Tobacco Industry - face to face, telephone or virtual. I understand that submissions may be made, which may be acknowledged in some way but which don’t lead to a meeting, and these are not the subject of my request. Similar, I appreciate that there may be some communication over email to arrangea meeting, but which doesn’t represent substantive dialogue between deptmental Officials and theTobacco Industry on the submission made or tobacco taxation policy, and again, these are not the subject of my request.
