I would like to request the following information from the Department of Foreign Affairs in relation to Irish Passport Applications under the Freedom of Information Act as follows 1) How many passport applications for new born babies you have received from Jan - June in 2024 from people resident in the UK, and the average turnaround time, plus the maximum and minimum turnaround time to date this year. 2) How many passport applications for new born babies you have received from people resident in Ireland and the average turnaround time, plus the maximum and minimum turnaround time to date this year. 3) How many passport applications for new born babies you have rejected the passport photo and on and the average time to issue the request for resubmission / notice of further information. 4) How many passport applications have been rejected (i.e. sought resubmission of the application form under a provided link for the same application) on the grounds of not being able to contact a witness. 5) The number / % of passport applications where the witness is called in relation to a new born baby born and applied from in Ireland. 6) The number / % of passport applications where the witness is called in related to a new born baby born and applied for in the UK. 7) The number of passport applications which have been rejected twice or more times in relation to applications for new born babies. 8) The details defining the requirements of a witness to be available for a phone call and the number. of days you will attempt to contact the witness before rejecting the application (i.e. seeking a resubmission).
